I bought my current cellphone on year 2005, its still functioning well, except battery power dropped quickly. while most people around me playing with new gadget, I still counting 160 character to fit my message. do I need upgrade my cellphone?

I read some news and advertisements about new technology in wireless communication, I just confused. its said Uncle Google shows and open source android OS, grandpa Jobs who bite my apple shows the touch of magic, Mr Balmer play james bond 00 microsoft mobile 7, and my love nokia give us three, the mature symbian, and maemo with meego in special labs.
